Nuri Abdul-Rahman

Nuri Abdul-Rahman is a master's student in Computer Science at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, where he also previously earned a Master of Professional Studies in Data Science. His academic work sits at the intersection of computer science, synthetic biology, and biochemical engineering. He is a GEM Fellow and will serve as an intern at NASA's Johnson Space Center. Prior to and during his graduate studies, he was a Data Analyst at a robotics start-up company, where he worked with complex datasets to support scalable analytical solutions. His current research focuses on developing machine learning and computer vision tools to analyze and model high-throughput microbiome interaction networks. Outside of his academic work, he enjoys playing baseball and being around friends.
